ABOUT USIndoor ClimbingWhen it is too cold and wet to climb outdoors HRFC climb every Monday on the climbing wall at the St. Leonards Academy in Hastings. Club members also visit climbing walls at Brighton, Shoreham, Crowborough or Crawley most weeks and there are regular trips by club members to the White Spider in Kingston and The Reach in south-east London.Outdoor ClimbingOnce the weather improves and evenings become lighter we climb every Wednesday and most weekends on the sandstone crags south of Tunbridge Wells including Harrisons, Bowles and High Rocks. Weekend day trips to Swanage and Portland are common throughout the summer months.WalkingThe club has an active walking section and organises regular day and evening walks in Sussex. Members will also be seen out walking in the hills on club trips (see below.)Social ActivitiesWe organise regular social activities including summer and winter barbecues, parties and cinema trips. We have an annual dinner in November normally organised around a weekend away.Club TripsWe regularly organise trips both in the UK and abroad. Annual visits to the Peaks, North Wales, bouldering at Fontainebleau and a winter week in the Scottish Highlands. Recent years have also seen trips to the Alps, Cornwall, Clécy and the Old Men of Stoer and Hoy in Scotland.
