The club mounted a number of expeditions to Dorset this Easter – those who found it hard to get out of bed on the first day off after work (Jenny & Steve, Nigel, Kevin and Monty) missed the Friday outing and instead cruised down leisurely in the afternoon, camping up at Woodyhyde, near Corfe Castle.

Having driven up on the Thursday, I camped at the Forestry Commission site near Beddgelert. Friday morning dawned bright as forecast and opening the van door revealed patches of mist and sunlit hills – perfect, especially for October!

This year’s trip to Snowdonia was again based on the campsite alongside the A5 between Betws-y Coed and Capel Curig. On arrival on Thursday evening we found several members pitching their tents, and others having arrived on Wednesday, were settled in and had already done a days climbing.
